Many people find, myself included, that mosquitoes have a strong propensity to bite the ankles and feet.
I personally do not get bitten by mosquitoes very often, but when I do it is always on my ankles and feet, and nowhere else on my body.
There are two main reasons why mosquitoes like to bite these areas of the body. First, the feet and ankles are low to the ground and are therefore in closest proximity to mosquitoes, as they often rest in grass and on other ground services.
The other reason is because the ankles and feet tend to have less body hair than the legs, arms, and other areas of the body.
One of the main advantages of having body hair is that it protects the skin from insect bites. Body hair keeps insects such as mosquitoes away from our skin, and it also alerts us to the presence of an insect when we feel our hair move.
For this reason, men may find it more common to get mosquito bites on their feet and ankles than women, because many women shave their legs and they have less body hair than men in general.
