Japanese beetles don’t bite too often because they don’t come in direct contact with humans or other animals very much. They are herbivores and seek out flowers and leaves to feed on. They stay away from animals who could be considered threats.

And although it is rare, Japanese beetles can bite people or pets. If you are the unlucky recipient of a Japanese beetle bite, there is no need for great concern. It should be treated just like any other insect bite and will likely heal on its own in a few days.

Keep the bite clean and dry for the first 24 to 48 hours to make sure that it doesn’t get infected. If the bite is real itchy you can apply hydrocortisone cream of 1%, which can be purchased over-the-counter at any drugstore.

Usually there is not much treatment required for Japanese beetle bite. The only trouble you may run into is if the bike gets infected. Cover the bite within antiseptic cream until the broken skin heals, and you shouldn’t have any problem at all.
