Victor flea traps work best when used to contain a small area, such as a small bedroom or den, and they should be used in conjunction with other methods of flea control.
One of the problems with flea traps is that they only kill adult fleas that have the ability to jump into the trap, but do not eliminate the flea eggs and flea larva, which account for about 95% of the total flea population.
Flea larva can lay dormant for months until they detect the presence of a host through either vibrations or elevated carbon dioxide levels in the air. Because of this, Victor flea traps will not entice the immature flea larva to emerge from their cocoon.
Only the presence of a suitable host animal such as a cat or dog trapping to the environment will cause the adult fleas to emerge from their cocoon, so that they can be killed.
