Baby mosquitoes can have different appearances, depending upon what stage of the lifecycle they are in.
After hatching from their egg, a baby mosquito passes through a larval stage and then a pupa stage before it develops into an active adult.
In both of these stages, the developing mosquito usually lives on the surface of the water, or just below the surface of the standing water source, the same source of water that the initial egg was laid in.
It is difficult to describe in words exactly what these immature mosquitoes look like, so I will refer you to the mosquito image gallery on this website so that she can see for yourself exactly what they look like.
In order to access the image gallery, simply click on one of the images in the sidebar of this webpage to be taken there.
You may recognize that these baby mosquitoes are similar in appearance to many types of fishing lures, as many species of fish feed on developing mosquitoes.
