The best flea treatment for small dogs is the monthly application of flea medicine such as Advantage or Frontline. These medicines kill virtually all fleas within 12 hours of the first application.
In addition, it only needs to be administered to your dog once per month during the active flea season in your climate area for it to be effective. There is simply no better way to protect your dog from fleas then through the use of a modern flea medicine.
The flea medicine that we feel is the best and we recommend for small dogs is Frontline. It is tolerated very well and has very few side effects in our experience.
