It is unlikely, but possible, that while you are sleeping a cockroach could crawl into your ear canal. This will cause itching and discomfort, and there is a method you can follow in order to get the cockroach out of your ear.
Do not be concerned that the cockroach can somehow enter your brain through your ear canal, because there is a barrier there that will prevent this from happening.
The best thing to do is to flush the cockroach out of your ear canal with warm water, using a device that is commonly sold at the local drugstore and that looks similar to a turkey baster. Just ask your pharmacist to help you locate it.
This method is more commonly used to flush the ear canal of built-up debris that can cause a loss or blockage of hearing, but it also is effective to remove cockroaches or other insects from your ear.
