Does a Flea Comb Work?

A flea comb is a short term solution to removing fleas from your pet. Grooming your animal with a flea comb will separate the fleas from its fur, but it will not remove all of the flea eggs and larva from its skin, nor will it stop the reproductive cycle of the flea which is critical to ending an infestation.

A flea comb is inexpensive and can help to reduce the suffering of your pet at the hands of fleas, but it must be used constantly in order to be effective, which is not truly a realistic solution.

You will be better served to use a more effective and appropriate method to eradicate the flea infestation, namely administering a topical flea medication to your pet such as Advantage. These medications are the easiest and most effective way to deal with a flea problem.
