Can Flea Larvae Bite?

Flea larvae are not at the stage of the flea life cycle where they are a threat to bite a human or an animal.

Flea larva, having just emerged from the egg, are blind and must feed on any organic material that they can find nearby, which is frequently dried blood or remnants of adult flea feces.

After molting three times, the flea larva they will then enter the pupa stage of the development where it weaves a silken like cocoon around itself.

After emerging from the cocoon, the flea is then ready to seek its first blood meal from a host.
