Do Mosquitoes Swarm?

While female mosquitoes live a more solitary life, male mosquitoes live and fly in swarms.

If you see swarm of mosquitoes then you know that those are male mosquitoes, and male mosquitoes do not bite, so you do not need to be afraid of mosquito swarms.

Another interesting piece of information is that when a female mosquito is ready to mate, she will fly directly into a swarm of male mosquitoes in order to breed in the center of the swarm.

After breeding, it takes a few days for the female mosquito to develop eggs, which she will then proceed to lay in the water of a stagnant water source.
