Do Fleas Go in Human Hair?

Fleas can go in a human hair, but it is unusual because the human head is normally well above jumping distance from where the fleas are located, which is usually on the ground.

But if a person has been playing with a cat or dog that has a flea infestation, fleas could jump from the animal to the human and attach itself to the hair fibers of that person.

When fleas bite humans, it is usually either along the waistline where they attach themselves to a person’s clothing and bite the skin along the edge where the clothing meets the skin, or on the scalp where they hide inside the hair.

In order to get the fleas out of human hair, just take a shower or a bath and submerge your head under water because fleas cannot swim and drown easily. Most shampoos and soaps will also kill fleas as well.
