Lemon Juice for Fleas on Dogs and Cats

Lemon juice mixed with water can be used as a natural flea killer, either applied as a flea bath with a little bit of lemon juice mixed in, or sprayed directly on the skin with water bottle.

Lemon juice is highly acidic and can be an irritation to a cat or dog’s skin if applied in too high of a concentration, and can also be irritating if it gets in the eyes, so be careful.

It will not have too much positive affect in keeping fleas off your dog for a long period of time, but will work to kill the fleas that come in direct contact with the mixture.

For more long-term success, we recommend using more mainstream methods of flea control such as flea medication and proper flea shampoo.
