How Long Does a Mosquito Live After It Bites?

A mosquito doesn’t die after it bites, it lives on for another few weeks and will bite several times before it eventually dies.

After an adult female mosquito bites and obtains blood, it rests for two or three days while the blood is digested, and eggs are produced and laid.

After about three or four more days of rest, the mosquito will then seek out another person or animal in order to bite, and start the process all over again.

During its lifetime, an adult female mosquito can bite several times and lay several batches of eggs, producing hundreds of offspring.
