Many people let their dogs and cats roam freely outside or keep them fenced up in the yard, and these areas can become infested with fleas and become quite a nuisance.
There are a couple of different products you can use to treat yards, garden areas, and other outdoor locations, but the first thing you’ll want to do is make sure that any dogs or cats that roam these locations are put on a flea medication like Frontline.
Any type of flea control strategy should have pet medication at its base because without it your pets are virtual magnets for any flea eggs and flea larva that they come across, and it will be very difficult to deal with an infestation without it.
This Ortho insect killer uses a powerful broad-spectrum pesticide that can quickly contain an outside flea infestation, and it can be spread throughout the yard as needed..
Another product which works very well, and has the added benefit of being 100% all-natural with no pesticides or chemicals, is diatomaceous earth. It can be bought in a 10 pound bag for very cheaply and one back can go a long way. It kills the fleas by dehydrating them and crushing their exoskeleton rather than using pesticide.
Either one of these products will get the job done, but I personally recommend the diatomaceous earth because it is non-toxic and I just feel safer using it.
