A flea bite causes an allergic reaction in most people which can cause a rash and a swollen red bump on the skin with a single puncture wound in the center, similar to a mosquito bite.
Flea bites may cause an intense itching and burning in the victim, which often leads them to scratch and rub the bites which can result in bleeding and risk of infection.
Oftentimes, there may be more than one flea bite and there may be several in a line or in the same vicinity on the skin.
It is best to resist the urge to scratch the skin. Instead, you may apply calamine lotion to reduce the itching, or a hydrocortisone cream to alleviate the inflammation and rash.
